Heat pumps for South Sound homes
Ducted heat pumps that heat through a South Sound January and cool in August.

How it works
A heat pump moves heat instead of burning fuel to make it. In winter it pulls warmth out of cold outdoor air and brings it inside; in summer it runs the other way. If your home has ducts, a ducted heat pump can replace an old furnace or air conditioner, or pair with a gas furnace that only runs on the coldest nights.
Signs it is time to call
- Your furnace or AC is past 15 years and needs a costly part
- You are on oil and tired of deliveries
- You want cooling for the next heat wave without a second system
- Rooms far from the furnace never get warm
What happens when you book
- We measure the house room by room (a load calculation) instead of guessing from the old unit's size
- You get written options, usually a good, better and best, each with the model numbers
- Install is typically one or two days; we pull the permit and book the inspection
- We walk you through the thermostat before we leave and check back after the first cold week
What changes the price
- Home size and how well it holds heat
- Whether ducts can be reused or need sealing or resizing
- Electrical panel capacity for the new system
- Cold-climate model versus standard model
- Backup heat choice: electric strips or an existing gas furnace
You get the number in writing before any work starts. Financing is available through a third-party lender, subject to credit approval. Plans and financing
Our oil furnace died the week before Thanksgiving. They had heat back that night and came back the next week with three heat pump options on paper. No pressure at all.
Will a heat pump keep up when it is below freezing?
Cold-climate heat pumps are built to keep heating well below freezing, and the South Sound rarely stays that cold for long. We size the system for our design temperature and plan backup heat for the few nights it might be needed.
Can I keep my gas furnace?
Yes. A dual-fuel setup lets the heat pump do most of the work and hands off to the furnace on the coldest nights. It is a common choice when the furnace still has years left.
Are there rebates?
Often, through your utility and sometimes through state programs. Amounts change, so we confirm what you qualify for at the visit and point you to the official program page. We do not quote rebate amounts we cannot verify.
Cold house, old furnace, or just curious about a heat pump?
One visit, written options, no pressure. If it is an emergency, call and a person or the on-call technician picks up.
